I begin in the dye studio where I color sheets of watercolor paper by dyeing, painting, silk-screening and printing, using a variety of constructed, found, and antique objects. One piece of paper may undergo several processes to achieve the depth and complexity I seek. I arrange and rearrange small sections of these papers to create a composition which is then sewn together, creating an additional layer of color and texture.
